The War on Morality

There is a full-out war being waged on morality. It is no coincidence that those who advocate for socialism and big government also promote aberrant behavior and the destruction of the most basic, time-honored moral codes of our society.

What’s the connection? Why do they do this? Simple: power and gain. A free society requires a moral underpinning. Without morality, freedom cannot long last, and thus those who seek power and gain want to destroy morality.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” (John Adams)

Freedom of Religion is not only a right, but also the Founders intended it to be part of a comprehensive set of checks and balances.

“The Founders counted on our country’s churches to teach morality so that individuals who were connected to God would put checks on themselves.

Much of religion is about self-mastery. The concept behind most faiths is that when one is connected to Deity, Deity changes human nature.

By encouraging a religious and moral people, there would be additional checks upon the people without the need for governmental force.” (Restoring Liberty: Personal Freedom & Responsibility in America)

When a large proportion of the people lack self-mastery, people clamor for more laws and bigger government to control lawlessness. Bottom line… big government means less freedom and more power held by the elite in a centralized governmental force.

We’re Paying the Price

According to an article on CNSNews.com, “William Jeynes, a professor at California State College in Long Beach and a senior fellow at the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, N.J., spoke at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 13, 2014 about putting the Bible and prayer back into U.S. public schools. Since 1963, Jeynes said there have been five negative developments in the nation’s public schools:

  • Academic achievement has plummeted, including SAT scores.
  • Increased rate of out-of-wedlock births
  • Increase in illegal drug use
  • Increase in juvenile crime
  • Deterioration of school behavior

“’So we need to realize that these actions do have consequences,’ said Jeynes, professor at California State College in Long Beach and senior fellow at the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, N.J., ‘When we remove that moral fiber — that moral emphasis – this is what can result.'”

What Progressives Want

Standing in opposition to conservative principles today is progressivism. What do these progressives believe? The key to understanding progressives is to understand that they are not a new animal. They have a new name for an old philosophy – socialism – which has the ultimate objective of communism.

If we want to now what we’re up against, it’s always a good idea to know the agenda of your opponent.

On Jan. 10, 1963, Congressman Albert S. Herlong Jr. of Florida read a list of 45 Communist goals (aka progressive goals) into the Congressional Record. The list was derived from researcher, and former FBI Agent, Cleon Skousen’s book “The Naked Communist.” These goals are well worth revisiting today in order to gain insights into the thinking and strategies of much of our so-called leftist elite (aka progressives).

Here are a few of the highlights:

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the U.S.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations that are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures.

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural and healthy.”

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state”

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special interest groups should rise up and make a “united force” to solve economic, political or social problems.

What is happening in our country is an agenda checklist from those who seek for power and gain and want to destroy our free way of life.
